What's your favorite horror movie?

After eleven years, another killer is up to mischief in Woodsboro. This time a new generation is the target of the madman with the knife. The fourth part of the Scream series is available from October 20th on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Who does not know them, the Scream films by Wes Craven. Popular with horror fans in the 1990s, moviegoers have only enjoyed remakes of the killer films for the past decade. But this year “Scream 4” finally came to our cinemas. For years, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) was no longer in her hometown of Woodsboro, where horrific murders took place. But now she has returned to present her new book. In her homeland, she is expected by Gail (Courteney Cox) and ex-Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette), who have married in the meantime. It just so happens that the day of the murders is celebrated while Sidney is in Woodsboro. Of course the killing starts again. But some things have changed, the killer has chosen new victims and targets. He no longer adheres to the pattern of murders in the first three films. The murderer in a black robe and a wise mask orientates himself on his bloody foray through the small town on the horror films “Stab”, the film in which the series of murders was processed in the last “Scream” parts. Sidney, Gail and the police are now trying to put the killer down as quickly as possible, but the killer is pretty shrewd.

It was supposed to be over after three films, but producer Bob Weinstein decided to shoot another part. "Scream 4" is directed by Wes Craven, who also directed the first two parts. For the fourth part you could get Neve Cambpell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette on board again. The Scream-Francise is one of the few in which the original cast plays in all four films. Many were skeptical whether a “Scream” film would still be well received by the audience after such a long time, but “Scream 4” received consistently positive reviews. Wes Craven manages to transform the subject into the present day. Twitter, webcams and blogs play an essential role in this, so the film has been given a contemporary look.

In order to scare the cast of the voice on the phone, she was not introduced to the actor Dane Farwell, who portrays Ghostface. So his voice remained that of a stranger. Neve Cambpell and Emma Roberts said they were really scared of the killer. Another fun fact: The film in the film “Scream” was directed by Robert Rodriguez on “Stab”.

There is also a clique of teenagers in the new “Scream” film who celebrate parties, drink and have fun. This time, unlike in the first part, the sex takes a back seat. The youngsters are portrayed by young actors such as Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Emma Roberts, among others. Each of the youngsters who belong to the new cast can be equated with one of the actors from the first Scream film: Jill (Sidney), Kirby (Tatum), Trevor (Billy), Charlie (Stu), and Robbie (Randy). Despite the first murders, nobody thinks about the security measures. Teens and also cops die like flies one after the other. Not to be forgotten is that Wes Craven doesn't take his killer and the horror film as a whole that seriously either. There are just a lot of scenes that are really weird. Craven's opener in the film-in the film-in the film optics is a bit confusing but still a laughing matter. Our internet society is also getting its fat off. For fans of the "Scream" series, this film will evoke feelings of nostalgia, because Wes Craven is simply a master of his craft. "Scream 4" is exciting until the last second. Although the course of events is well known, one is still excited and eager to guess who the murderer could be.
