Wood in the modern kitchen: ancient and yet modern

Solid wood and real wood veneers are visually varied and diverse. Real wood impresses with its very own peculiarity and looks completely different from variety to variety. The light beech, for example, looks slightly reddish and warm, the brown-stained oak looks rather heavy and almost antique. The natural light oak, a wood that has been gaining popularity for a number of years, looks simple and elegant. Today it is offered with various surface finishes such as rough-sawn, brushed, stamped, planed, sanded or even printed.

Walnut with its dark brown color is a classic among the types of wood and always creates a homely atmosphere. The light maple wood with its almost white hints has a neutral and reserved effect. Cherry wood, on the other hand, is striking and fine due to its reddish nuances. Every solid wood and every veneer is unique in its surface. In the cupboard area, real wood is often used as a front in combination with lacquer or glass. The free choice of cabinet fronts creates an individual kitchen look that is always unique and therefore exactly in line with the trend.

The worktop is the most frequently used area in the kitchen. A work surface made of real wood, be it beech or oak, requires a little more maintenance than stone work surfaces, ceramic work surfaces or those with decorative foil. On the other hand, the solid wood here is a symbol of nature and authenticity. Solid wood worktops are usually offered oiled and are therefore also resistant to moisture and dirt, but must be re-oiled regularly in order to re-impregnate the wood.

Solid wood is a homely natural product, where traces of use and color differences appear like a patina over the years and make the material even more expressive. Beech is one of the most important types of solid wood and, in addition to oak, is also the common wood used for kitchen countertops.

For the small budget and easy to clean, worktops and fronts have a wood look. They are perceived as a little "cooler", but also offer a nice look.
