  1. Preheat the oven to 250 ° C, top and bottom heat. Mix the water with the sugar and the dry yeast in a bowl and let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix the wheat flour, salt and add the yeast mixture. Then mix in the yogurt and oil and knead everything well. Gradually add the milk.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for an hour. Then knead again well.
  4. Shape small pieces of dough into thin patties and flatten them a little with your hands. Place on a baking tray covered with baking paper.
  5. Bake the naan flatbreads in the oven for about 4 minutes, then turn and bake for another minute.

Tips on the recipe

The bread tastes great with curry! With a little fresh coriander and / or ghee (= Indian clarified butter), the flatbread is a real culinary delight.

You can also fry the flatbreads in a pan (for around 3-4 minutes) with a little butter until golden yellow. This is often faster and you don't have to preheat the oven.

If you replace milk and yoghurt with plant-based milk and soy yoghurt, you also have a vegan variant.
