The starting salary for interior architects is around 2,400 euros gross per month, but the monthly income until it is entered in the list of architects can be as little as 2,000 euros. More work experience usually means that the salary also increases over time. On average, you can expect an income between 3,000 and 3,500 euros gross per month. The collectively agreed gross remuneration is on average between EUR 3,112 and 4,357 per month.

Study and training as an interior designer
The study of interior design lasts six to eight semesters and ends with the title Bachelor of Arts. As a rule, students then complete another four semesters and receive the title Master of Arts. The course begins with imparting the theoretical basics of design, technology and construction planning.

To work as an interior designer, you must have completed an undergraduate degree in interior design. To do this, you need a university entrance qualification or a high school diploma. In addition, some universities carry out aptitude tests and / or require proof of a completed internship.

In your résumé you list your previous career and also name internships and secondary jobs you have completed. In addition to cover letters and curriculum vitae in tabular form, copies of certificates and work samples are also part of the mandatory application documents. With a master’s degree, you increase your chances of finding a management position considerably. Construction technology, networked living, the medical sector or ecological building materials are just a few examples of possible areas in which you can specialize.
In this way, you can possibly advance to the position of project manager and benefit from excellent earning opportunities. If you are considering a position as a lecturer at a college or university, a doctorate is required.
