Eating in Thailand
Thai cuisine is among the best in the world. Even if there are now many good Thai restaurants in Europe, the dishes on site are even better. Of course, this is also due to the fact that some ingredients are only available fresh there.
Many restaurants are now geared to the sensitive palates of tourists. “Spicy or not?” Is already a standard question in some places. However, since there is no measuring scale to determine what is sharp and what is not, there may be one or two surprises here.
Fascination Thailand. Useful tips for backpackers and individual travelers

I myself love spicy food and am always happy when it has not been "westernized" in the restaurant. And you can get used to sharpness. During my first stay in Thailand I needed two bowls of rice and two beers to eat the green curry while sweating. Today half a bowl is enough and I say “spicy” when ordering. If you like authentic food, you have the best chance for a delicious meal at the street stall.
When it comes to restaurants, I prefer to head for the simple-looking ones. It's good and cheap there. The posh restaurants with the high-priced menus, on the other hand, have disappointed me a lot more often. You can find some of my favorite dishes in Thailand in my top 10 vegetarian dishes in Southeast Asia.
If you get sick of Asian cuisine after a few days or weeks, you can at least switch to Italian cuisine or fast food at any time in the tourist areas. European or American breakfast is also available there in many hotels and restaurants.

Drinks in Thailand
Water is available cheaply in all supermarkets. It is sold in plastic bottles and is non-carbonated. Carbonated water (soda water) is available in small glass bottles and is significantly more expensive.
You will find a wide range of soft drinks on the refrigerated shelves. In addition to many products that we know from home, there are also loads of other drinks whose flavors can be guessed at. Go ahead and try one or the other. However, be prepared for a sugar shock.
The shakes that are available in many places taste much better. Whether pineapple, watermelon or mango - you can hardly go wrong here.

Alcohol in Thailand
The two most popular types of Thai beer are Chang and Singha. Decide for yourself which one tastes better for you.
If you like it with a high percentage, you will come across Sang Som very quickly in Thailand. The well-known Thai whiskey, which is actually rum, can be found almost everywhere. It is either drunk straight or mixed with cola.
A cocktail is of course also part of the evening in the beach bar. The prices are between 100 and 300 baht. Happy hour is usually somewhere before midnight.
On a trip there can be an upset stomach every now and then. There are many reasons for this. Sometimes it's the change, sometimes the alcohol, sometimes it's bad hygienic conditions. My tip: Don't worry too much, otherwise you will get sick from it alone.
The best travel credit card for Thailand
You can save a lot of money on your travels with the right credit card. Here you can find out which cards you can use to withdraw cash free of charge worldwide and pay in local currency at no additional cost. And who is currently the only provider who reimburses you for the foreign fees at the machine, for example in Thailand or Vietnam.
Here is the credit card comparison
You usually don't look at food to see whether it is good or bad. You can just as easily spoil your stomach in an expensive restaurant as in a cheap one. Eat where there is a lot going on and where the locals eat, then everything is probably good.
At least in tourist areas, I never do without ice in the drink, because clean water is usually used here. Outside of vacation spots, I'm a little more careful with ice cream. The same applies to lettuce or fruit that may have been washed with tap water.
