How are Turkish women

about us

The meeting place for women was opened in 1981 as an institution of the Schöneberg neighborhood home and is financed by the Senate Department for Women. Two social workers and eleven honorary employees work in the facility. The work approach is low-threshold. Kidöb works in a network with institutions and authorities in the Tempelhof - Schöneberg and Berlin districts.

Since 1981, women from Turkey have had the opportunity at Kidöb to meet and exchange experiences, to obtain information, to take part in the numerous courses on offer, such as German, literacy, health, Saz, painting and sewing courses, and to continue their education.

In addition to the offers for women, there is a school work group for girls on three afternoons. Here the participants have the opportunity to do their schoolwork with assistance.
You can get an overview of schoolwork.

Another important part of the activities at Kidöb is cultural work. Events on the subject of health, education, nutrition, etc. are held several times a year. There are exhibitions and theater visits or parties and other activities are organized together with the women.

Kidöb's target group are women from Turkey, most of whom come from Schöneberg and the southern districts of Berlin.
We value political and religious neutrality in our work and are committed to the principle of tolerance.
