What have everyone achieved this week

Interim balance: Free corona tests for everyone

Since March 8, all Berliners have had the opportunity to be tested for the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus free of charge. The state of Berlin is thus implementing the resolution of the Ministerial Presidents' Conference (MPK) of March 3, 2021.

The State of Berlin currently has 192 test options in 21 test centers and 171 certified test-to-go stations. This achieves a test capacity of 73,270 tests per day or 512,890 tests per week in a short time. Further applications for the certification of test sites are added daily. The processing of a certification application takes an average of 24 hours. Interested parties can get an overview of the offer on https://test-to-go.berlin/ or at https://www.berlin.de/corona/testzentren/.

Health Senator Dilek Kalayci: “Berlin offers all Berliners nationwide free testing. The third wave, driven by the British variant of the coronavirus, worries me very much. A quick test can help detect an undetected infection. Further infections can be avoided with quarantine and PCR retesting. I appeal to all Berliners: Use our free test offers regularly and prevent unnoticed infecting people around you! "

The test capacities are currently not being used to the full. The established test centers report an average of 60% utilization, the test-to-go test centers an average of 20% utilization. An increase in demand is expected. Positive results of a rapid test must be confirmed by means of a PCR retesting. The PCR retesting is also free of charge.
