Should I buy a Realme X2 Pro?

Realme X2 Pro from 444 € 6.5 ″ FHD +, AMOLED, 90Hz, SD855 +, NFC

With the announcement of the Realme X2 Pro Realme made for open mouths. The low RRP delivers really great hardware: a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 855+, partially UFS 3.0 memory, as well as NFC, Incell fingerprint sensor and a large 4000mAh battery. The whole thing is already happening depending on the model chosen 0,00€ let's go.

Realme wants to stir up Europe. With the last announcement of the new devices, this will probably even succeed. There is currently no better equipped smartphone with a fast 90Hz panel for less money and that with a Snapdragon 855+ SOC. Even the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro cannot keep up. Visually, however, you are not really breaking new ground here, you are sticking to the current standard of the drop notch with an integrated camera. The quad camera team with 64 + 8 + 13 + 2 MP is located on the back, in the middle, vertically. There are currently four colors to choose from: Lunar White, Neptune Blue, Red Master Edition, Gray Master Edition.

The Super AMOLED display (nothing more than a better marketed AMOLED panel from Samsung) measures 6.5 inches and, like the OnePlus 7T / Pro or the Nubia Red Magic 3 / 3s, offers a smooth, swift display 90 Hz refresh rate. Only the Asus ROG Phone 2 offers 120 Hz (or the older Razer Phone). The resolution is attached here 2400×1080 Pixel, HDR10 + is supported and the color space is included 100% DCI-P3. As with the OnePlus7t, the maximum brightness should also be 1000nits. You can tell that the smartphones come from the same company. 🙂
Of course, nothing less comes than the current one Snapdragon 855+ Octa-Core with a maximum 2.96 GHz Clock in the housing. The smallest version with 6 + 64GB will with LPDDR4X RAM as well as the UFS2.1 Storage connection operated. The two larger models with 8 + 128GB or 12 + 256GB Storage space rely on the new, much faster one UFS 3.0 Connection (also as in the One Plus 7 / T / Pro or Vivo Nex 3). However, the storage space should not be expandable with a micro SD card.

The camera on the back will probably work with that too 64 megapixel sensor from Samsung (GWT1) and offers an f / 1.8 aperture. In addition, cameras are included 13 megapixels (2x optical zoom, f / 2.5), 8MP (Ultrawide angle, f / 2.2) and another 2 megapixels Sensor for depth information (f / 2.4) can be used. All recordings are sent via Gyro ICE (Electronic stabilization) stabilized. The Front camera use one 16 megapixel sensor at an aperture of f / 2.0. A special highlight will also be Stereo speakers installed. The usual Atmos certification shouldn't be missing. Good but stereo remains just stereo. With the given connectivity, the Realme X2 Pro does not spoil either: Dual sim with all important LTE frequencies (7/20/28 in the global version), Dual-WLAN AC, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5mm jack, USB Type-C (2.0) GPS (A-GPS / GLONASS / BeiDou). The Fingerprint sensor under glass (InCell Fingerprint / Gorilla Glass 5) as well as the option to unlock / secure the device by face (Face Unlock) is of course also possible.

The battery measures 4000 mAh Capacity and can with the new Fast charging technology SuperVOOC by means of 50 watts be loaded. So you should get a fully charged battery with a charging time of 35 minutes. This will certainly have to be taken into account for one or the other user, because larger, brighter and 90Hz operated displays also require electricity. I currently tend to run for one day with normal use, possibly 1.5 days. You probably won't get really more out of it. The OnePlus 7T already showed that. In the Nubia Red Magic 3s and the built-in 5000mAh battery, economical users can use it for 2 days. The operating system comes first Android 9 in the customized ColorOS6.1 Version used. An update to Android 10 has already been announced. The dimensions are included75.7mm x 161.0mm x 8.7mm and one Weight of 199g.

Reviews / experiences / opinions

The device makes you want more, especially the starting price is really tempting. When the global version finally appears, everything should fit: German language, pre-installed Google Play Store, all important LTE tapes. I am very excited. 🙂
