He addresses the relationship between feminist research and men's research: this has benefited scientifically and politically in a parasitic way from women's research. Therefore, a critical self-reassurance in men's research has to deal with both the theoretical requirements of its analyzes and its political claims and goals. This self-assurance is characterized by the author as “positioning” in relation to Donna Haraway and Jacques Derrida in particular. Based on Althusser and Connell, he defines patriarchy as an ideology that is characterized by an extreme agility, which makes the academic criticism of masculinity appear as a strategy of re-sovereignty with a patriarchal character.
