Rescue men... brings the word "Superhero!" A new meaning! These inspiring humanitarianists are posing hot dates with their adopted dogs for 12 months!

Imagine your typical "superhero".

You are likely envisioning a cloak and some big muscles in tight fitting clothes. Doing, you know ... superhero stuff like flying through the air and saving virgins in need.

Check out what REAL superheroes look like!

Yes, we would like to introduce you to RescueMen ... inspiring people whose best animal friends are protection dogs.

Oh, and they are big water drinkers if you know what we mean!

RescueMen USA is an organization co-founded by Jen Halopern (President of Pillows for Paws) and Felicia Greenfield (founder of Grandpa Dave's Creature Comforts) to promote the "Adopt, NOT Buy!" Philosophy. To promote.

Each year approximately 2.4 million healthy and adoptable pets are euthanized in animal shelters. That's roughly one animal every 13 seconds, and RescueMen founders find this totally unacceptable. (Shouldn't we ALL?)

Since Halopern and Greenfield run their own charities, they put their heads together to find out how the "Adopt, do not shop!" - Movement can be spread. Greenfield says, "We wanted to reach the" non-animal "population; to give them the message," Adopt, don't shop! "

Is there a better way? stretch out than to highlight inspiring (oh, and hunky!) men who are rescuing, nurturing, and / or adopting their animal companions and changing their lives forever in the process.

Prior to the release of the 2017 RescueMen calendar (coming out next month!), The calendar featured men mostly known locally or in the New York City area, where both women run their other charities.

Wanting to get bigger, however, to get the news across to people across the country unaware of the horror of homeless lives or puppy mills, they contacted men outside the area for a national appeal. (Mr. April is Cooper Barnes, who speaks a superhero dog on the Nickelodeon hit 'Henry Danger'.) They also want to allow people to see the softer side of guard dogs - to meet extraordinary (and hot again!) Men see the most normal thing with these amazing guard dogs. They hope this will break the myth that a shelter is unlikely to be a large pet. Greenfield Says: "Animals from animal shelters can just as well be or even better, than animals one would find in a pet shop "and judging by the appearance of the pet-human relationships on this calendar, it is very obvious!

All proceeds from the calendar will go to Halopern's umbrella organization Pillows for Paws. Pillows for Paws provides the local animal shelters with essentials that they believe will not only benefit the health and welfare of the animals, but also make them more useful. Dogs and cats who benefit from the supplies (beds, chew toys, and enrichment items) are more relaxed and happier, which makes them much more appealing to someone looking for a pet forever.

The men on the calendar come from different walks of life ... dentists, IT guys, cover models (yes, COVER MODELS!), And they are smart, intelligent (and good looking!) Men who want to be role models for everyone, who is interested in having a pet for their family. They know best friends are really in shelters and want the world to know they are adopting, NOT shopping.

And let's be honest ... who wouldn't listen to these guys?

So, the next time you think about superheroes, forget about the tights and think about them these RescueMen do what they do best ... save the lives of precious shelter animals across the country.
