How can i get reliance jio sim
The Ultimate Reliance Jio 4G FAQ: 10 questions answered
Reliance Jio, an entirely new cellular network to be launched in India, is the theme of the city these days. Unlike other existing networks like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Reliance Jio that we already have on the Indian spectrum, this network is different and will be the first one we come across with VoLTE support. The network has already been made available to early bird users via LYF phones and introductory offers, but the public launch is yet to be seen.
Luckily at Guiding Tech we received the introductory offer from Trust Jio I've been using it for a couple of weeks and my family and friends kept asking me questions about Jio. Instead of telling each one individually, I have documented what I believe to be the most frequently asked questions and tried to answer them as simply as possible.
Let's have a look.
Q1. What is Reliance Jio and how is VoLTE different from others?
Reliance Jio is a new cellular network launched in India that will be the first VoLTE-enabled network. The aim is to provide users with an immersive voice and data experience right on their mobile device. They have also developed a full ecosystem around Jio to bring rich digital content to users at a cheaper price than other services. They also launched some affordable devices. 3000 (LYF flame).
VoLTE, on the other hand, is the voice network that Jio provides to users. The SIM cards are no different, but the band they are inserted into is different. VoLTE stands for Voice Over LTE Answer calls in high definition This is done on a 4G network compared to Airtel, Vodafone and other networks that still use the 3G / 2G network for calls. Another advantage of VoLTE is that you can access the Internet via the phone even when you are on the phone, which is not always possible in other networks.
Q2. Does Jio work on all smartphones?
As of the iPhone, only the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus support VoLTE. When it comes to Android, you need to do some research on forums to see if your device supports VoLTE network or not. Almost all current phones with Snapdragon processors support the VoLTE network. Here is a list of all the phones that support VoLTE at the moment that you can check out. Remember to check that your phone supports one of the following three LTE bands:
1. 1800 MHz band 3
2.850 MHz band 5
3. 2300 MHz band 40
It should be noted, however, that you can only use the Jio SIM card for your data services if a phone is not supported for VoLTE, but offers 4G / LTE support. You can also create a hotspot from these phones and connect from a PC or other smart device. Only voice services are not available and you cannot make calls from unsupported devices.
Q3. Which band will Jio support?
In my last point, I mentioned all three bands that Jio will be supporting. It should be noted here that although Jio has the license to operate on 800 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands in 10 and 6 circles, respectively, it has a license to operate on 2300 MHz frequencies throughout India. If you decrease the band, the bandwidth and speed will be better. However, since not all phones support Band 5, you need to do some research before investing in your new phone.
Reliance Jio will use all three tapes in India. If your phone supports all three bands, there is nothing like it. Manufacturers like OnePlus are also partnering with Jio to get VoLTE support for all three bands on their previous phones.Follow the news to be informed about your specific devices.
Q4. How do I get a Jio SIM card?
Well, that's a question everyone asks me these days, and to be honest, not everyone can get a Jio SIM card like they can get an Airtel or Vodafone SIM card. Right now, you can assume they are in beta and only the person who buys a Reliance LYF device or accesses frequent offers on devices that they bring out can get the Jio SIM. Currently, all Samsung devices that support VoLTE can get Jio SIM with unlimited calls and data as part of a preview offer.
The SIM cards that you get with LYF devices are also tied to the specific IMEI of the phone and therefore cannot be used on other devices. You can only enable the hotspot for data connection sharing. The SIM cards from the Samsung range are not tied to a specific device and can be used on any device once the product has been activated via the Samsung phone. Once the network is open to the public, you will be able to purchase Jio SIM cards from authorized dealers.
Q5. What is the Jio ecosystem you are talking about?
Reliance Jio is not only working to bring HD voice and high-speed data services to its users, but also plans to create a digital ecosystem. It has already launched some apps like JioOnDemand, JioPlay, JioBeats, JioMags, etc. that can be used to watch TV shows and movies, read magazines, listen to music and even read magazines. This is basically your phone number.
At the moment, all of these services are free in the preview offer and there is no information about additional costs that will be charged to the customer after the public launch. Speaking of content, it's one of the best for Indian consumers.
This has enabled testing of the network, user applications and services, and business platforms. The feedback from test users is extremely encouraging. The test program will gradually move to commercial operation in the coming months - Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance
Q6. Does Jio guarantee incredible speeds?
Reliance Jio offers pretty good speeds compared to Airtel and Vodafone, and I personally recorded a top speed test of 54Mbps in a few locations in Bangalore. However, I've recorded speeds as low as 3 to 4 Mbps in other parts of the city as well. So what speed you get is a gamble and it really depends on where you live.
Additionally, Reliance Jio is currently in the hands of a limited number of users, so once it goes public, the bandwidth may decrease as more users start to buy it.
Q7. Is Jio going to be cheaper than the competition?
According to current speculation, Jio may be cheap compared to networks like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and others. However, there is no essential information about what the price might be if it is officially launched. However, according to some press releases, Jio could even provide 10GB worth of data for just Rs. 97 that is far less than what others are offering.
The price war has already started and you can see that the price of data and calls is falling due to the Jio effect. Vodafone recently reduced its mobile data costs and Airtel recently started making unlimited calls in a few packages. Idea Cellular also gives hourly packages from the Internet at lower prices.
Q8. Does Jio activation take time?
Jio activation can take anywhere from 4 hours to 2 days. The reason for this is the silly verification process. The inside story goes that the document you hand over to the Jio center is scanned to an app over a phone and sent as an order. Jio's timeout period is much shorter and it is a Herculean task to use the box that is made available to these centers.
I personally saw the staff scan the documents three to four times to check them. Also, I got rejected for a stupid reason like “.permanent address too small”. I thought this is what everyone has been using for decades and how can I add something to my address that is irrelevant. After about 4 days my SIM card was activated after many escalation levels. In short, activating the SIM card can be quite a chore if things stay the same.
Q9. Am i happy with jio?
It's been more than a week since I've used my Jio SIM card on a OnePlus 3 and I can say that I'm happy with the download speed I'm getting. However, during the call, the network is usually overloaded and 5 to 6 connection attempts may be required. Apart from that, there were some locations with network coverage, but the data service was not working.
So yeah, the network has its ups and downs, but then I take advantage of the free preview offer with unlimited dates and calls so you can tell I'm biased right now. We'll have to wait for the public launch to get the full picture with the tariff details and then I may be able to change this answer.
Q10. Anything else?
You tell me. As far as I'm concerned, I've put everything on the table about Reliance Jio and VoLTE, but if you have any further doubts or questions, I'll be happy to answer them in the comments section.
