Description:

What if we could hit the reset button on the way we create money, work, trade and community? What if we could design a social economy instead of just a financial one? These are not idle questions as technology today allows us to press that reset button and reshape the organization of the creation of money, labor, trade and community. If we could start over, what would a new system look like? It is clear that we need a system that offers what the current system does not: meaningful work for everyone. This book is the practical blueprint for a new system, one that offers opportunities and opportunities for meaningful work and having the sources of wealth, not just for the few, but for all. In this system, each individual has the power to improve the system for himself and for everyone else involved. It is no longer a prerequisite to be at the top. Anyone who is powerless in the current arrangement will be empowered in the new system. Empowered not only to improve one's own situation and that of one's family, but that of one's own community and that of the wider community on planet earth. A radically blessed world beckons us - what are we waiting for?

Until recently, millions of us thrived on one
Way, from previous generations only
dreamed. I don't mean owning villas here,
Yachts, or buying political power me
mean, leading an independent life and the
Owning the sources of our prosperity.

This autonomy and this possession is as that

on their own terms.
We achieved this prosperity without the benefits of one
Education at elite universities or an inheritance. With
in other words, comprehensive prosperity did not come through
Privilege, or genius, or luck, but through
abundant possibilities.
The system itself revealed these possibilities.
It took millions of us.

When it comes to our socio-economic system
to understand, then we are like fish in the water: we

cannot imagine any other system than that which

we inhabit. We assume it's not just that
only system, but that it is the best system.
Whatever flaws it has, it has in the

This is proven to be wrong. Instead of it being about
Centuries perfected, our system is one
Rubbish dump of history: junk that was left to
Plagues to survive, wars and revolutions. If
let's look at this from a new perspective, then
this rubble dump makes absolutely no sense. The
System was not designed to be consistent
so it's no wonder it's incoherent. How could
will it be different?
The current system is based on five principles, of
whom we assume to be something like socio-economic gravity, that is, they are
self-evident truth:

Money created by banks trickles down

down to create work and wealth for all.
Technology creates more jobs than it does through

Automation will be destroyed.

Centralization is the solution for serious ones
economic problems.
Growing debt and consumption (i.e. growth) is
the way to prosperity.
The maximization of private profits organizes the
Economy for the benefit of all.

If we look at these premises with new eyes,

then we see that they are all just wishful thinking. All
five are proven to be untrue. Instead of them the
The basis for a coherent system are added together
from them even more incoherence. Instead of them being a
Solution, each of them is a toxic problem
which is increasingly eroding the system from within.
What does this system failure mean for us as
Individuals and households? Let's clarify right at the beginning
everyone who has a better future for himself and his family
will have to begin his fate in like never before
to take your own hand.
However, dealing with one is

Poor.
The real solution is obvious, isn't it? We
need a new system. We all feel it, but we do
don't know where to start Let's start with
a simple question: how about if we could hit the reset button what the way we like
When it comes to creating money, work, business and
Community? If we could start over, what
would we edify? This is not a bad question because
technology now allows us to use that reset button
to press and organize the money creation,
Work, business and community in new ways
create.
When we set out to create a system
which everyone the chance to control his
own sources of prosperity there, how would such one
System look like?

If this is a question you're interested in (and if it's
shouldn't interest us all, then we have all
related problems), then read on. This book
presents a comprehensive, complete solution to the global
System.
The key point is no secret: man
must understand how systems work.
Systems have inputs, rules, and outputs
(Outputs). If we just eat gummy buns and
never do sports, then we get sick because
our bodies are a system:
Gummibrchen + no sport = bad health and
eventual death
Simple!
Our current one creates in a similar way
Economic, social and political system insufficient
economic, social and political results.
To quote a popular definition of insanity here:
Madness is when the inputs are the same and

different results are expected. By the

And yet all the reforms that have been presented so far
just as if the variety were gummy cakes

We need a totally new system if we can

Part 1: Why the Current System

has failed
Chapter 1: gaping holes in the
traditional narrative style

This book with its original title Brcken

Across a treacherous flow: New tools for them
Solution to global poverty (Bridging a Treacherous River:
New Tools to Solve Global Poverty) started out as a plan
to alleviate global poverty. It was the kernel of
40 years during which I asked the following simple questions
considered: is poverty inevitable? Unless,
what systemic solution is there, one that is everywhere
alleviate poverty on the globe?
As an inherently practical person, and trained as a
such, I looked for a practical answer.
I found out that we have two kinds of poverty: The
ancient poverty (want), and a new kind, triggered by
Automation and software that eats the world, like
Marc Andreessen put it so appropriately. Digital
Technologies are massively replacing human labor
and wise, and threaten millions with loss of earnings.
Once I understood the main cause of poverty
had the lack of safe and paid work fr

I all realized that my real topic was the

Job creation for anyone who does paid work
wanted was on a global scale. This wasn't just
the solution for global poverty but also for the
increasing replacement of human labor by
Automation.
While I was figuring out why the only thing possible
Result of the current system poverty and
Inequality is, I understood a few more things
will help us to develop a new system
design which has possibilities for all as a result.
One of them is the fact that state
Capitalism (or whatever you mean the present
Arrangement) is more than an economic one
or financial system; it organizes ours
Relationships with nature and with other people, and
it does so without our being really aware of it
are.
In other words, a financial and economic system
is also a socio-political system concerning
Resource management, by nature. The draft of the
The financial-money-economic system sets the course for everything

Further.
Second, the crux of any system of finance and
Economy is the creation of value. When a
small group of people creating value
controlled, then the only possible outcome is the
Systems creating opportunities and poverty
of increasing inequality exactly what that
current system evokes.
By definition, money has value. Those people
which the creation and distribution of value (for
Example money) control, control everything else.
When the way money is created and distributed isn't
is changed, then you really have nothing
changed. You just eat a different color of
Gummies.
Let us assume that a system is broken
as money. I own the only one
Rubble factory and I'm going to jail everyone
trying to become a competing rubber pulp factory
establish. Who do you think will get rich and in this
System be powerful? What is the only possible
Result in this system?

Of course this is an oversimplification, but you understand

my point. Those who create value
control, control everything else. If we don't
How money is created and distributed
change, then nothing changes. We're just changing that
Color of the gums, and wonder why
the results do not change.
Opportunities and opportunities boil down to that
there is an opportunity to create value. If
creating valence from a few few above
is controlled on the pyramid, then the majority becomes
have a lack of opportunity. Such a system
does not allow any other result.
Of course we are all for freedom. Only despots and
Dictators are against freedom. But freedom is without it
Possibility of creating value an illusion. What
exactly means freedom in a system where the
Creation of value and possibilities of one
limited to a few at the expense of the majority?
Chairman Mao Tse-tung alleged
famously that political power from the end

comes from cannon barrels. The power of coercion comes

from the end of a cannon barrel, but it is not
the same as political power, or the power to do things
take care of.
In the end, Mao was wrong. Cooperation is the basis
of power. The comrade with the cheeky Mao cap and
the rifle can have any power out of the end
the barrel only stops as long as he keeps the rifle on
judges those who have no rifles. Coercion is a very
limited form of power. Coercion does not create
Value, cooperation creates value.
We can only evaluate what we can measure. If
if we cannot measure it, then it does not exist. If
we talk about inequality, then we talk
ultimately about money, because money is what we can measure.
The bottom line of measuring inequality through money
the idea is that if we give people a little bit more money
that inequality would be reduced.
But inequality doesn't really exist because of that
Money. Inequality is about who is creating
Validity controls and who has the opportunity to value
create. If people are given money, then they are

While this reduces the guilt of those on top of that

sit on the pyramid, but that doesn't really change the
Inequality of the system. It can be the silence of those
buy who are denied the opportunity to
but this does nothing to change the causes of inequality.
Since we don't measure the causes of inequality,
we don't even recognize them. When we are a person
withhold the opportunity for value creation
to actively do something productive and important
contribute and think that a little money this
Make inequality go away, then we are blind
towards the causes of inequality.
The first step is to realize that money is not
the only and most helpful standard for measurement
of inequality or value. It's not even
an adequate measurement for capital, because the most valuable
Capital is the ability to create value through
free cooperation with others.
The current system is a centralized one
Hierarchy. Centralized hierarchies work great
for those at the top of the pyramid of wealth, power,
Security and Opportunities. The top 10% with the

greatest wealth, most power, security, and with

most of the ways, look down and
say that since the system works for them, it works
for everyone. They stare at the few at the pyramid
climb up to join them as proof
making the system work for everyone who does that stuff
to have: mind, devotion, and so on.
Needless to say, those people deny the
Have wealth and power, so don't let them
anyone else change the system, they could
yes lose their place on top of the pyramid. Since they
Having understanding and devotion etc. can do them without
another endless list of reasons for it
conjure up why the system is good together
and only small reforms are needed.
But whether the top 10% recognize it or not, it
like it or not, the system is unfair. It is
morally corrupt to its very foundations.
But the moral corruption of the system is not that
most pressing problem. The main problem is that
five premises listed in the introduction, and
it is these that decompose the system from within. Ever

The more we obey these five premises, the more

let's select the system.
This leaves us with a choice. We can verify the correctness of the
Systems that work for us as individuals
defend that which enables us to defend our
to maximize private interests. We can
Eat different colored gummy rolls and hope that they will
the system magically saves itself, or we
tackle the matter and design one from scratch
new system, one with opportunities and possibilities for
all.
We are told that there is always a middle ground, but
this is not always true. Sometimes it's either or.
Now let's look at this concept: a system which
works for everyone, works for us too.

Why do we reject new solutions?

Skepticism is generally our first reaction to any new one
Solution. There is more to it than just healthy caution

and we need to understand the psychology of skepticism

if we want to avoid falling into the trap of
Black painting to go.
Skepticism is part of our intellectual immune system
which puts us in front of wishful thinking, fuzzy logic and the
Illusion of understanding protects (i.e. the urge to do everything
wanting to reduce a Power Point presentation).
But skepticism is also a cloak of invisibility.
Black painters find under the disguise of skepticism
extensive deficiencies in the current arrangement,
but even more so in the proposed solutions.
When black painters rule, the system stagnates.
In companies, stagnation leads to bankruptcy. In
Societies stagnation leads to decline
Vitality and the ability to solve problems.
Black painters think they are valuable, yes

Pose a risk. And yet this is the reality. Nassim

Taleb and others have shown that systems that work
oppose the fermentation of new ideas,
become increasingly brittle and weak. The refusal
of solutions guarantees the system collapse.
One of the predominant reasons for black painting is
our pay and pleasures, our position
and our social status from the danger of new ones

we all understand the motivation to do our part in the

Charity is served, not self-indulgent

Experiments and competition are suppressed so
self-serving interests are protected, then rot
the system from within.
Black painting triumphs when idiosyncratic interests

surprising that this devaluation of civic

Main reason for the decline and fall of Rome

Black painters find their home in black painting organizations such as bureaucracies and in monopoly positions
Organizations that are there either no to

Name competition).
It is no coincidence that illicit organizations
are centralized hierarchies. As we did in the second chapter
systems destroy themselves, if
they become large, complex, centralized and hierarchical.
How they self-destruct is very simple:
Innovations, experiments, competition are seen as a danger
suppressed, and so it becomes faster-better-cheaper
comfortingly buried in a shallow grave.
The way up within these organizations is
phenomenally good black painting while one

Investigations are thrown out necessary.
Black painters do not show their expertise through innovation
but by making holes in the innovations
Do other. Innovation is risky, black painting is
safe especially in organizations that are risky

Colleagues are praised for having the
Protecting the organization from the danger of innovation.
There is another major motivation for
Black painting. Those who are part of the 10% of the layer of
Technocrats, finance and economics are looking up
their success and think that the system for me and
works for my co-workers so it's obvious
great. The possibility that the system is only for that
the upper 10% is good, or that the success is only temporary,
is not as convincing as personal experience
those who are in black painters' organizations.
In other words, if the system does not work for them personally
works, then she has little reason for it
Black painting. You are interested in solutions and

give them a chance. But those who do well

idiosyncratic interests are protected for many reasons
for painting black and few reasons for
possibly to support disruptive solutions.
In any case, we should be skeptical, but we should
avoid painting black and into stagnation and
to slide the collapse.

My personal path to the solution

This book follows the good advice of the philosopher
Ludwig Wittgenstein: Life's problems are on
insoluble on the surface and can only be solved in depth. In
the superficial dimensions they are insoluble. To
my astonishment has my own convoluted
Career path helped me close the gaping holes
to identify traditional narrative and a
to design a new solution.
Here is a list of my colorful career: a carpenter

and, more recently, a freelance writer
of little books, blogs and ideas within the digital

written, and with a pickaxe I got one

Steve Jobs held a salutation at Stanford in 2005
University, one which is famous for its hard earned
Wisdom regarding the fact that our careers
only takes off when we reach the point where everything
comes together.
This book is that point.
Each of my work experiences has something irreplaceable
contributed to this connection of the dots. I should have
not the same analytical tools available,
if even one of them was missing.
It is therefore only too appropriate that I warn you
as to the fact that i while i was young

Teleology is such a word. It means the end goal who

have lead, successes like failures.
Understanding abstractions is essential, and yet not
sufficient. It is not enough to have abstract knowledge;
you have to combine it with down-to-earth experience,
to understand how things really work.
There's another indispensable ingredient: risk.
You can never really understand how things are

What is easy, but guaranteed to fail:

Wishful thinking
We all know that people like things

are predisposed. Calories are in the world of hunters and
Collectors in short supply, and valuable energy in pursuit
There is no point in getting burned from difficult tasks
unless the wages are very large. (Note that
our brains blazing high are the many calories

That's why we prefer wishful thinking to analysis.
Wishful thinking is a lot less work. If
Has the choice, then one chooses wishful thinking because it is
generally less risky than valuable energy in work

to gamble away that may not pay off.

However, when we face difficult problems

useful because it does not contain any solutions.
If you run a real business, one

There are few guarantees in life but wishful thinking

Wishful thinking cannot do the hard work of analysis,

So if we really address the problems of poverty and the

we should roll up our sleeves and get one right

will be worth it.

Three starting points

Before we can start, a new system too

design, we need to understand why the moment
System has failed. Otherwise we will get the same result
to get. Let's start with these three points:
1. The

traditional narrative about ours

socio-economic system is so full of holes
that it no longer makes sense.
2. We don't ask the right questions those who really do
must be provided.
3. Systems are not ideological. they work
regardless of our wishes and cannot
repaired by mental or emotional trickery
become.
Although we were supposedly taught to be critical
think, there is surprisingly little independent thinking
which is actually based on the five premises set out in the
Introduction is applied. Why is
that so? There are several reasons for this.
When these narrative styles no longer make sense,
then we have to create new ones. This is a priori
a risky undertaking, because new ways of narrating
can be as inconsistent as the present.

Although we really have no choice here today

Explanations don't make sense whether we like it or not
we don't avoid questioning the status quo,
because when we ask questions, this presupposes
that we accept that the future is in question, and
this uncertainty is a cause for concern.
Another reason why we don't ask the questions
must be asked is the failure of the
Imagination: Few can imagine one of the
present a very different world.
The idea that systems are independent of ideologies
existed by Donella Meadows essay
Leverage points: places where systems are intervened
(Leverage Points: Places to Intervene in a System, zu
read at donellameadows.org).
Before reading this essay, I accepted that
Conventional narration according to economic and
social systems are ideological: capitalism,
Marxism, democracy, socialism, and so on.
People believed in or rejected the system
for ideological reasons.

That systems are reduced to input, rules and outputs

Having to do with kindness or efficiency was an enlightenment.
Simply put, systems are successful or they are

Though the psychology of belief is complicated, it is

Similarly, we believe that maximizing
private profit leads the system to prosperity because we
believe in economic freedom. How could anyone

The system must have the greatest private enrichment

If we want positive results and outputs, then
we need to examine the system as a system, not as a

This leaves us with quite a blatant choice. Either us

As Donna Meadows points out, systems are often
counterintuitive: we want them to have a certain result

that our systems self-destruct.

2. The

3. Our economy and society as a system

Once we achieve these goals, then we are
prepared to design a system which
actually produces positive results.
