Love is heard with the heart ...

Emilia makes a list with all of her dreams: she would like to learn to play the piano, attend a concert or just know what the rain sounds like. But Emilia is deaf. When she happened to meet the loud and mysterious Nick of all people, it seemed like a bad joke to her.

Because behind each of these points there is a great challenge for Emilia: Without hearing, these wishes seem almost unattainable for her if she does not undergo an operation. Nick, the boy with the crooked grin, is much more interested in parties than music - and keeps a sad secret. But while Emilia is chasing after her dreams, the two meet again and again - and it seems that Nick's loud and Emilia's quiet world are not as far apart as they initially believed ...

Great reading pleasure: Delia award winner Kira Gembri combines a sensitive coming-of-age story with delicate romance.

A touching love story that takes readers on a rollercoaster of emotions and teaches them to hold onto their dreams.

"Sensitive, empathetic, with a happy ending: perfect reading material for romantics." Westphalian news

Kira Gembri always manages to win me over with her soulful books. Here two young people meet by chance and discover that, although everything speaks against it, they could be good for each other. But to do this, they have to overcome their fears.

Oooooooohhh ... it was sooo nice! The love story of Emilia and Nick hit me right in the heart. Written in a funny, personable and emotional way. I can absolutely recommend the book.

Still, she has dreams: learning to play the piano, going to a concert, listening to the rain. But the fulfillment of these dreams is almost impossible. Until she meets Nick, who is different than expected. Not the party animal, but more interested in music than she thought. This was my first book by Kira Gembri and it will definitely not be my last. I liked the book from the first page on, as you slowly learn more from Emilia and Nick too. Because the chapters are written in alternation, so you can deal much more intensively with the individual characters and understand what goes through their heads and why they act that way. Emilia is a brave girl, serious, but also really fun-loving despite her "handicap". This can be felt throughout and I found it very interesting to learn more about the world of the deaf. About the ways in which you can escape from the world and how you can still “hear”. I always had the feeling to experience everything with Emilia. The growing friendship with Nick was also noticeable. Nick, who is extremely self-confident, but deeply engages with his fellow human beings. And meeting Emilia changes him. I liked the experiences of the two and it portrayed the relationship between the two well. Kira Gembri writes intensely, rousing and at the same time so relaxed that I absolutely had to read on to know what happened next. An exceptionally beautiful book that touched me deeply and showed me the world of the deaf.
